Cat Litter Box Problems?

Cats are way easier than dogs! I mean, from the moment you bring them home they are already potty trained. However, unlike most dogs, cats are finicky and well...very stubborn.

A cat that once was potty trained, will suddenly start having 'accidents' all over the house. Has this happened to you? Yes you say (what cat owner hasn't had this problem?). Well this post is for you!

Here are some tips to hopefully stop those unpleasant potty mishaps.

  1. Make sure your cat is either spayed or neutered (sorry but I had to go there, it's called 'marking').
  2. Is your litter box clean? Every two weeks is just not enough!
  3. If you own multiple cats, make sure each cat has their own box (this shouldn't surprise you that cats don't like to share).
  4. Did you recently change the litter? Cats are particular, they like what they like (enough said). You might have to try several different litter brands before your cats' problem stops.
  5. Don't feed your cat in the same room as their box. Do you like to eat where you relieve yourself?
  6. Make sure their litter box is in a quiet place where they won't be bothered when doing their business.
  7. Give your cat some attention. Believe it or not cats are spiteful. Don't cross them, or they will pee on your rug.
If none of those tricks work, then it might be time to start thinking more seriously. Your cat might have a health issue. I would suggest taking them into to see their vet.

I listed all my tricks to change cat litter box problems, do you have any you would like to share?
